Importance of Tafsir

Tafsir of the Quran is the most important for Muslims .All matters concerning the Islam is based on proper understanding of the guidance from Allah. Without the help of tafsir there would be no right to understanding the different passages of the Quran.

The word tafsir is derived from the root ‘fassara’ to explain, to expound. It means ‘explanation’ or ‘interpretation’. In other language the word tafsir is mostly used for explanation and interpretation the Quran meanings and clarifies its legal implications. The word, tawil which is also used in this connection and is derived from the root ‘awwala’ and also means ‘explanation, interpretation’

The Tafsir is the language of scholars, its aim to get knowledge and understanding the concerning book of Allah and explain the meanings.Tafsir explains the outer meanings of the Quran and Tawil is considered the inner and concealed meanings of the Quran. Others opinion that there is no difference between the tafsir and the tawil. Allah says that: It is reported that a man asked Ibn cAbbâs about the day (mentioned in the Qur’ân) which measures 50 years, and Ibn cAbbâs replied: ‘They are 2 days which Allah has mentioned in His book, and Allah knows best about them’, and he disliked that he should say concerning the book of Allah, what he did not know.

There are many reasons that the tafsir is of great importance but the basic reason is that Allah has sent the Quran as a book of guidance to mankind. Man’s purpose is to worship Allah, i.e. to seek His pleasure by living the way of life Allah has invited him to adopt. He can do so within the framework of the guidance that Allah has revealed concerning this, but he can do so only if he properly understands its meanings, implication and interpretation.

Importance of Zakat in Quran

The word Zakat means both Purification and possessions. After Salah, Zakat is the second pillar of Islam. In the Quran we learnt that Zakat stands second in its importance. The structure of Islam is based on these two pillars. If these pillars are removed the Islam cannot be survived.

The most important principles of Islam is that all things belong  to Allah, and wealth is held by human beings in trust.Zakat is the amount of money that every adult, stable, free, and financially able Muslim, male and female, has to pay the needy and poor people.

This category of people is defined in surah at-Taubah (9) verse 60: “The alms are only for the poor and the needy, and those who collect them, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to free the captives and the debtors, and for the cause of Allah, and (for) the wayfarers; a duty imposed by Allah. Allah is knower, Wise.” (The Holy Qur’an 9:60)

Zakat is obligatory after the one lunar year passes and the money is control of its owner (A lunar year is 355 days approximately) if the owner had enough money to satisfy the nisab at the beginning of the year and then the money increased during the year the owner should to add the amount to the nisab due to increase the money durind the current year.

A pious person may also give as much as h pleases as sadaqa, and does so preferably in secret. The Prophet said ‘even meeting your brother with a cheerful face is charity. If we are paying Zakat it means that our feeling developed inside our heart that Allah is the creator of the world. The whole money we are gain is given by the God. All the things we are getting are the blessings of God.

To get the benefit from their education the prophet (peace be upon him) declared that if one prisoner teaches ten Muslim children how to read and write because they are literate .This was the first school in the history of Islam Recognized by the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself and in this institution all the teachers are Non-Muslims.the Sunnah of the prophet (peace be upon him) shows that education must be received whatever even the risk involved.

Today Muslims are acquiring good knowledge, skills and ideas from all over the world. The world is going very fast and in this situation it is the duty of our teacher to convey better education to the Muslim children because students are invaluable assets of future generation.
